It's been a difficult few weeks for Edison Chen who looked tense and tired when he met the press earlier today and admitted that he had taken those photos which allegedly show him in compromising positions with numerous high profile Hong Kong actresses. Chen is helping police in their investigation as to how the images were stolen from the star's computer when he sent it in for repairs. In the meantime the HK heartthrob has announced an indefinite withdrawal from the local movie and entertainment business. Hopefully, when the hypocritical mass media feeding frenzy has quietened down he'll be able to return to work...

Sad news in the Hong Kong entertainment world - popular Hong Kong actress and comedian Lydia Shum aka Fei-fei (Fatty) has died from liver cancer at 60. A memorable and much loved figure famous for her bouffant hairstyle and wing-tip frame glasses, Shum appeared in over 70 movies.

According to Reuters Life! Hong Kong superstar Jackie Chan will take a break from making movies this year in order to promote the forthcoming Beijing Olympics. Jackie Chan started training in martial arts and acrobatics as a child at the Peking Opera School and has said that he hopes the Olympic spirit will inspire today's Chinese and Hong Kong children to lead more active lives and participate in sports.
Jackie Chan was one of many of the major Chinese stars to sing on the Beijing countdown song - Welcome to Beijing.
